Le fait que l&rsquo;\u00e9changeur d&rsquo;ions puisse \u00eatre r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 non seulement avec de l&rsquo;acide et de la lessive, mais aussi par un champ \u00e9lectrique, \u00e9tait une id\u00e9e r\u00e9volutionnaire et a pos\u00e9 les bases du d\u00e9veloppement des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s modernes d&rsquo;\u00e9lectrod\u00e9ionisation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 propos du proc\u00e9d\u00e9 : Un module EDI se compose de plusieurs chambres s\u00e9par\u00e9es par des membranes s\u00e9lectives d&rsquo;ions. Les chambres sont remplies de r\u00e9sines \u00e9changeuses d&rsquo;ions et plac\u00e9es entre deux \u00e9lectrodes \u00e0 tension continue. La tension continue appliqu\u00e9e d\u00e9vie les ions de l&rsquo;eau d&rsquo;alimentation EDI vers l&rsquo;\u00e9lectrode correspondante : les cations se d\u00e9placent en direction de la cathode et les anions vers l&rsquo;anode. En raison de la disposition oppos\u00e9e des membranes s\u00e9lectives d&rsquo;ions, les ions sont collect\u00e9s dans des canaux entre les chambres et \u00e9vacu\u00e9s du module par un flux partiel, le concentr\u00e9 EDI.
