Ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis
Challenge for the customer
Discontinuous water consumption.
Dr. Rolf Schreinert, Product Manager, from EnviroFALK: “The challenge was the discontinuous water withdrawal. We therefore decided to produce small quantities of demineralized water and store it in a low-germ atmosphere using UV treatment. This means that individual quantities of high-quality water can be called up at any time as required.” The deionized water is required for the final cleaning of the implants, which are made of cobalt-chrome, titanium, polyether and polyether ketone.
Brehm then sat down with the experts from EnviroFALK. After detailed analysis and consultation, a water treatment system consisting of reverse osmosis and downstream electrodeionization (EDI) was designed. The system produces deionized water with a consistently high water quality of 0.06 µS/cm. The bacterial load is less than 20 CFU/ml, the endotoxin values are less than 0.01 EU/ml.
- Demineralized water of consistently high water quality
- The bacterial load is below 20 CFU/ml
- The endotoxin values at less than 0.01 EU/ml
The system produces deionized water of a consistently high quality. The customer is very satisfied.
