Reusing water several times and ensuring that there is no contamination, for example during the washing process, requires sophisticated disinfection.
In the preliminary stages, our experts prepare a detailed analysis of effectiveness and sustainability. Depending on the application, EnviroFALK offers various disinfection techniques.
UV disinfection - UV radiation and bactericidal effect
UV disinfection is widely used in water treatment as a bactericide. The UV light destroys the DNA, the cell membranes and the enzymes of the micro-organisms by forming free radicals in the water. This involves the pretreated water flowing through an irradiation chamber in a controlled manner. The antibacterial effect of the UV radiation is especially effective at a wavelength of 254 nm.
UV oxidation - UV radiation as an effective oxidant
For UV oxidation of organic compounds, UV radiation at a wavelength of 185 nm is most effective, as it breaks large organic molecules down into smaller ionised components, which are then often removed using an ion exchanger downstream. UV radiation at 185 nm acts as an effective oxidant in water treatment and is often used in the production of high-purity water.
Chemical disinfection - Chemical water disinfection
The effectiveness of a chemical water disinfection system depends, in particular, on the type of process and the substances used. Our experts will work with you to determine the ideal consumables and the optimum dosage for your water disinfection system to combat germs and viruses permanently and prevent the reformation of biofilm. Naturally, we only use products for EnviroFALK water treatment systems that have been tried and tested and have proven themselves within our group. .
